With gas prices being where they are with no end in sight I thought a web site with the the lowest area gas prices could be fould would be helpful in the Grand Lake area. These are mapped and are updated every night. Go to the website and plug in the zip code.

One of the land marks on Monkey Island is also one of the better restaurants at Grand Lake. When you're driviind south on Hwy 125 on Monky Island you will can't help noticing the landmatk on the left side of the road which is a "Pink Cadilac" in front of the Shebang. For around 30 years Larry and Joyce have provided great food and fun for visitors and locals alike.

They started a Sunday morning Brunch about 4 weeks ago which is excellent. Our favorite is the Eggs Benedict. The weather has been strange and Real Estate Too.

They say in Oklahoma if you don't like the weather... just wait a minute. Actually they may say that everywhere but this year at Grand Lake has been wetter and cooler than normal. Finally we are getting the warm sunny stuff tha puts smiles on all our faces. With all that rain the lake levels have been great and we had a good crappie spawn this year. Hip Hip Hooray. They taste great.

The Lake Front Homes here at Grand Lake continue to be active and appreciate in value where the homes off the water have slowed somewhat but have mained value and increaded a couple percent. We never had those huge increases like California or Florida and we haven't seen the huge decreases either.

Memorial Day Week-End

Memorial Day Week-End is one of the three busiest times at Grand Lake and it still amazes me that even with so many people here it doesn't look crowded . It's such a large lake. People and families are having a great time and creating fun memories which will last a life time. While this is going on Debbie and I were showing home to a couple from Arizona who will be moving here. One home had a very interesting owner who is a professional wildlife photograher. Wow! It was amazing to see some of his work with many of the pictures taken around the Grand Lake Area. Some of the pictures were Pelicans, Cranes, Wood Ducks, Mallards, Geese, New born Foxes, Eagles and of course Deer. If you enjoy discovering these things this area is a bonaza.

It's many peoples dream to have a place on the lake. Whether you enjoy the fishing, boating, other water sports or just the serenity, the lake is the place to be. The jewell in Oklahoma is Grand Lake with 1,300 mile of shoreline and being 67 miles long.

There is a broad range of pricing and you need to be sure to work with an experienced professional Realtor who can help you through the process. It is very different than in the city where everything is platted and values can fairly easily be determined. View drives price and even the way a home is canted on a lot could male a $50,000 difference in market value. It is very hard to find a nice place on the lake under $200,000 that doesn't need updating or work unless it is a mobile home. For what most people expect to get prices are typically upwards of $300,000.

If price is limmited consider lake view or lake access. A home acrooss the street from the lake can cos $100,000 less than the same home on the water. ..(read more)
